Light Words

He has set sail

off to find 

peace and himself

at its best

with the words

"should the wind

bring me back

then it is

what was meant"

I nod, 

and through a haze

of tears

I wave

and watch

as he 

leaves

And I wonder

how I

can watch the sun 

rise and fall

without him

here

all the while 

holding 

my breath

so I don't 

disturb

the wind 

I pray to..

if I can 

just be patient

what I know

in my heart

should be, will be

and the wind

will fill his sails

and sing my name

gently into his ear

whilst the moon 

teaches me

how to light 

the way
