Lucky Words
He says he is so lucky
And when I ask
Why
His reply
-Because you like me
And I
Have found an unlikely
Happiness
In the mess
That I call life
He is right
At the edge of
My outstretched arms
And he warns
That he will indeed
Be
The first one
To take a step forward
And I
Am floored
And simultaneously
Stuck, feet firm on the floor
Mouth open
Tongue tied
Words try to form
Anything but fictions
No lie
Heart quickens
This is
Exactly what I wanted
So then why
Am I
Scared
Bared
By his honest open stare
-I really like you
-I think we’re so good
Together
We take in the silence
While it’s
Still
Fresh
I wet
My lips
To prepare
A little bit of something
Resembling a response
I’m on
A cloud
Something in my head
Screams
Clear
Loud
Now
Say yes
Say that you too want a taste
Of this
Of something
New
Say something
To fill the space
And take
A chance
Be bold
Be brave
And if nothing else
Just say
That you feel the same
That you too
Are going to stay
And all of that fear
Can be dealt with
On some other
Unlucky
Day
Cause he sees
Some kind of truth
In us
Despite my fears
And he endears
To call it
Luck
And it's time
I think to bring
Myself to finally
Trust
