Those Words

I could've sworn

I heard those words

whispered secretly

as I gazed intently

on that soft, sweet mouth

that once knew my bare flesh

I held my breath

against the thought

as the soft echo of those words

skated gently

on the surface of my skin

I felt the heat of his eyes

as he watched me

watching his mouth

those words

still dancing in the air

I could've sworn he spoke

but those eyes

would not give up the truth

and so

I held my gaze

on that soft, sweet mouth

waiting
