Melt Words
His summers melt
The frozen winters of my soul
A place that very few
Have known
His heat starts low
Gentle flames
That kiss this place
Stay
Stay
Stay
Words that fight
Against my grain
I am afraid
Of his sun
His light
But heat ignites
And drip by drip
I slip away
From promises I've made
To keep me safe
I struggle to keep
My cold
The walls that hold
This heart
Its hard
To look away
His face is blazed
Across every single thought
I'm lost
To this
Struggle for my needs
But he
Makes his promises
To me
To be
The sun at its peak
Melting the ice I breathe
Setting my currents free
To flow
Low
Like
Warm rivers
Running free
Fire spreads wild in me
He promises
To warm my snow
Only so
I can rain down on him
Warm
Wet
Waters
That begs him to swim
To sink
To think
Of nothing
But the pink
Sunsets he leaves in his wake
My winter breaks
As his summers
Press against my best
Attempts
To hide
But I am weak
And my winter slumbers
My ice asunder
Abandoned
To his
Ever sudden summer
He divides me
And breathes his heat inside me
Blue
Bright
At its height
It guides me gently
Through this night
He has made of me
An ocean
Swollen
To its core
Swimming
Swiftly
In me
Brimming over
Reaching closer
To my shore
And I in shame forsake
My winter
To surrender
To this war
To walk freely into fire
So that I
May know his heat
I have lost my winters
As
We melt
With with sweet
Release
