Void Words

I want love, the words

From your mouth proclaiming me

Your everything

Always

But only

If you really mean it

OtherwiseI'll settle

For your bare skin and my mine

Moving

Against each other in time

To old slow soul music, we'll use it

To keep time, rhythm, racing

Of hearts under dim light or stars

Melting like chocolate

Kisses keeping count of how

You just can’t keep your mouth

Off me. off we go through motions, Oceans

Find their salt in us, sweat sets up

Tents on what we make of love

Skin coated, glowing

Slowing down time with each stroke

We grind hours down to dust

Fine if you can’t give me love

But just never cease to be this drug

I want the words…but

Only if you mean them and I know you won’t

You can’t so I’ll hope

To have your nights instead

Hard, hot, fast, that’s all, my heart won’t last

But those words will fill my voids in bed
